| Im Gegensatz zu Chile und Argentinien, wo ich schon auf zwei vorherigen Reisen war, ist Peru absolutes Neuland für mich gewesen. Es war schön, mal wieder etwas ganz unbekanntes zu sehen! Arequipa ist die zweitgrösste Stadt Perus, und hat mir schnell gefallen. Von dort habe ich eine Tour in den Colca-Canyon gebucht. Ich habe den 3-Tages-Trek ausgewählt, was sich auch gelohnt hat. Die meisten Leute nehmen nur die 2-Tages-Tour, bei der man fast nur mit dem Bus unterwegs ist, und sich Aussichtspunkte anschaut. Wir sind aber ganz runter in den Canyon gelaufen, wo kaum Touristen unterwegs waren. Gut, dass die Masse der Leute oben in den Bussen geblieben ist! Ich bin dann noch einen Tag länger in Chivay geblieben, um mich für die Vulkantour zu akklimatisieren. Chivay liegt schon auf 3600 Metern, und ich bin dann noch auf irgendeinen mittleren Berg gestiegen, was bei der späteren Vulkantour auf jeden Fall geholfen hat! |
| Unlike Chile and Argentina, where I've already been travelling in my last 2 trips, Peru was completely new to me. It was nice to see something totally unfamiliar! Arequipa is the second largest city in Peru, and I liked it quite fast. In Arequipa, I organized a tour into the Colca-Canyon. I chose the 3-day-trek, which really paid off. Most of the people take the 2-day-trip, and stay in busses most of the time, travelling from one lookout point to another. But we walked to the bottom of the canyon, where we met only few tourists. Nice for us, that most of the tourists stayed at the top, in the busses! I stayed on day longer in Chivay, to acclimatize a little for the volcano tour I wanted to do later. Chivay's altitude is already 3600 meters, and I climbed a medium mountain in the area, which helped me quite a bit on the volcano tour! |
